History

The history of the "GT-R" is based on the 15th Tokyo Motor Show held in October 1968 as a successor to the Prince Skyline 2000GT-B (S54B-II), which was active in touring car racing. It began with the exhibition of "Skyline GT Racing Specification". It is equipped with a Skyline 2000GT (GC10 type) body and an inline 6-cylinder DOHC engine developed based on the GR8 type engine, a Nissan R380 GT prototype racing car. This "GT Racing Specification" was released in February 1969 as the first GT-R (PGC10 type) in February 1969.
